JSim PDE Solver Tuning Guide
This page is for the older JSim version 1.6. Click here for the latest JSim 2.0 version. The PDE solvers do not have parameters which can be changed by the user with the exception of the MacCormack solver which has a switch for flux-corrected transport which stabilizes adjacent cell oscillations and setting it on (check the box) may improve a solution.
The PDE solvers are:
LSFEA: Lagrangian Sliding Fluid Element Algorithm
No user adjustable parameters available in JSim implementation. Decreasing spatial and temporal step size may be useful.
MacCormack: Explicit 2nd order accurate in space and time
The MacCormack solver which has a switch for flux-corrected transport (FCT) which stabilizes adjacent cell oscillations and setting it on (check the box) may improve a solution. Decreasing spatial and temporal step size may be useful.
TOMS731: Transactions of Mathematical Software Algorithm 731 (a moving-grid interface for systems of one-dimensional time-dependent partial differential equations)
No user adjustable parameters available in JSim implementation. Decreasing spatial and temporal step size may be useful.
